Dr. Meng-Han Kuok

Director / Founder

Meng Han is developing novel lab on chip based solutions for biomedical diagnostics and biotech applications, integrating innovative technology and design in microfluidics, biological sensing and cell manipulation.

He received a Ph.D from the University of Cambridge, Institute of Biotechnology, where he worked in Professor Chris Lowe's lab on integrating holographic biosensors into a lab on chip device. He also developed a patented method for rapid sample concentration within microfluidic devices. These are currently being further developed by Camtech into a commercial pathogen detection device.

His earlier commercial experience was as business development manager in a Cambridge, UK based consultancy firm specialising in technology commercialisation. He worked on financing of early stage technology companies, and was responsible for obtaining consulting projects with government agencies on development strategy and technology transfer capabilities in micro and nanotechnology.

Before that, he was in technology corporate finance in an investment bank in London, where he worked on the valuation of early stage technology incubators and cross border M&A. He is a non executive director of Redbite Solutions Ltd, a startup company developing track and trace solutions for supply chain optimisation.

He also holds both Bachelor and Masters degrees in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Hon Ming Yong

Director

Hon Ming is the corporate and finance director, and oversees all financial aspects as well as sourcing investment for early stage technologies.

He graduated from the University of Minnesota, USA in BBA (Finance) and worked at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for Cargill Investor Services, USA and Exco International Plc, London in preparation for the opening of London International Financial Futures Exchange, UK and Singapore International Financial Exchange.

He moved on to the Commodities industries, and in 1997, he was consultant to ED & F Man to develop the Sugar business in Indonesia, resulting in the formation of various ventures in the Sugar industry for the London based group.

Subsequently, he was in the Private Banking Division at Merrill Lynch, Singapore, focusing on structured estate planning, wealth management and risk management of capital and assets for High Net Worth Individuals.

With his broad experience in finance and trading, as well as relationships with the investment communities in UK and Asia, he brings a strong financial perspective to the development of the incubator and Camtech.
